I was driving to work yesterday, pondering how complex it is to be human. To have all the instincts, hungers, and fear responses of our animal bodies. To have self-awareness and big old compassionate hearts that hurt so much that sometimes we just stop caring, because it’s too much. To have a need for love and relationships – a big part of the brain dedicated to this someone had just told me, like dogs (but not cats). Odd how we juggle it all in such complex ways, I thought on the way to work as I drove over a lovely bridge in Austin, TX.
Got sent home from work at 9:53 am, because someone was out of kilter and threatened to blow up my workplace.
Funny business being human. But not always ha ha funny.
